Five Years of Tran Flores Law

Five years ago, Tran Flores Law opened its doors with a straightforward but serious goal: to help immigrants obtain lawful status so they could live freely and pursue their dreams. This mission originated from a belief instilled in our founding attorney, Linh Tran Flores, by her father: Freedom provides security and makes the pursuit of dreams possible. From this core belief, the goal to help fellow immigrants secure lawful status so they could live without fear and build stable futures for their families was born. There was no large marketing machine and no massive staff, just a belief that immigrants deserve trustworthy and diligent representation and their cases deserve careful legal strategy, honest advice, and real advocacy.

Now, as we approach our five-year anniversary, we are pausing to reflect on what this journey has meant, not only for our firm but for the families who trusted us during some of the most important moments of their lives.

The Growth: A Snapshot of Five Years

The original team of Tran Flores Law in 2022

Since 2021, the measurable milestones of Tran Flores Law have told a story of steady, intentional growth. Over the last half-decade, we have received inquiries from over 6,109 people who needed immigration assistance and completed 629 consultations, resulting in 391 new cases. These efforts have led to life-changing results. Although it can take anywhere from 6 months to 6 years to receive a decision in an immigration case, in TFL's five-year history, we have helped 114 clients obtain or secure lawful permanent residence and 31 individuals become U.S. citizens. We have also secured 10 waiver approvals and assisted seven F-1 applicants in being approved for international student status, most of which required overcoming daunting Notices of Intent to Deny.

While these numbers are significant, they do not tell the story alone. What they truly represent is trust. In 2021, our first year, we received 430 inquiries; by 2025, that number has grown to 6,109. This trajectory did not happen by accident. It happened because clients referred their friends, families returned when it was time to naturalize, and community members shared their experiences. In immigration law, reputation is everything, and our growth is a testament to the care we provide for every case.

What 114 Green Cards Really Mean

A green card is far more than a government document. It represents the ability to work without constant anxiety, the freedom to travel and return, and the legal standing to petition for family members. Ultimately, it is stability. Each of our 114 green card approvals represents a person who no longer has to live in a state of temporary status or be separated from their family.

Some of these cases were straightforward, while others involved complex prior immigration histories that required meticulous explanation. Many demanded that we respond to intense government scrutiny with detailed documentation and rigorous legal arguments. We never take these approvals for granted.

31 New Citizens

Naturalization cases are often the most emotional part of our work. For many, citizenship marks the end of a long journey that began years earlier with visas, renewals, and adjustments of status. The 31 individuals we represented who became U.S. citizens now hold U.S. passports and the right to vote. They no longer fear losing their status due to extended travel and can now petition for more of their family members to join them.

Citizenship represents permanence and belonging. In several of these cases, reaching this milestone required resolving significant hurdles first, such as demonstrating that our clients, who overcame past criminal issues, possessed good moral character or clarifying past inconsistencies in our clients' immigration histories caused by unknowledgeable immigration consultants or unethical attorneys.

The Cases That Required Strategy

Not all immigration cases are routine, and the past five years have highlighted the necessity of a thorough grasp of complex immigration laws with its many nuances. We secured 10 waiver approvals, results that often take several years to receive and are never automatic. These cases require persuasive evidence and a clear legal strategy, especially for clients who were previously told they had no options left.

Similarly, we helped F-1 students respond to Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID). For an international student, a NOID can be devastating, signaling that the government is prepared to deny them the opportunity to study in the U.S. or disrupt their education and career plans. Successfully overcoming these hurdles requires precision and meticulous attention to detail, as there is no room for vague explanations or incomplete evidence. These are the cases that define a firm’s depth; they require far more than filing forms.

Why This Work Is Personal

Tran Flores Law was not built as a volume-based practice; it was built from lived experience. Our founder, Attorney Linh Tran Flores, immigrated to the United States as a refugee from Vietnam at the age of two, a background that brings a personal understanding of what the immigration journey means to a family. It is not abstract; it affects every opportunity that follows.

This perspective shapes our entire approach. We do not promise unrealistic timelines, minimize risks, or treat clients as case numbers. Instead, we take the time during consultations to get to know prospective clients, identify potential problems and develop personalized strategies for every client's case. We gather and prepare documentation thoroughly to meet the high standards of today’s immigration environment. We understand that in an era where discretion plays a larger role than ever, meeting minimum requirements is rarely enough to guarantee success.

Representing Clients Nationwide

While our office is based in Texas, our work knows no borders. Over the past five years, we have received inquiries from all 50 states and have been trusted to represent clients in 39 of them. Because immigration law is federal, we believe that geography should never limit a family's access to careful, strategic representation. Whether appearing before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, or the Department of Labor, our practice remains diverse, covering family-based immigration, naturalization, waivers of inadmissibility, humanitarian matters, and select employment-based filings.

What We Have Learned

Five years teach lessons that no textbook can provide. We have learned that early case assessment prevents future problems and that clear communication is the best way to reduce client anxiety. We have seen firsthand that thorough documentation is often the sole difference between an approval and a delay, and that integrity must always matter more than speed. Most importantly, we have learned that these cases are never “just paperwork.” Behind every form is a family waiting for an answer.
